I guess that makes this issue of TST semi-fiction. Or perhaps “inspired by true events.”

It should be mentioned that my fiance Laura did not have this dream specifically. She does have dreams that are very deep and thoughtful. It’s almost shameful that my dreams are what they are by comparison.

I wish I could say that the entirety of the story told in this strip was fiction. The sad truth is that the interaction with the Good Morning Man is verbatim. The sadder truth is that there really is a growing evil in the world rearing it’s head in people like him, in behaviors like those I saw in his hateful eyes. A week later, a co-worker told me that I needed to let it go. The specific incident isn’t what bothers me any more as much as what it means for society in general.

Is it considered ironic that having rendered this story as a comic, I can actually look back with laughter? I let it go with creativity.

Rendered without paper, on a WACOM tablet.

The final sketch for the march of Dimes eBay Charity Auction is not a life-drawing from the Cottage in Point Clark, but instead, something more akin to the rest of the work being submitted by other artists involved -a superhero.

The Batman, to be precise. One of the all time classics, rendered unclassically, although not without class, I should hope. I can’t just stick to normal conventions of comic-book style. There’s too much of it out there, and it’s not very good. So instead, I’ll always render heros with a more interesting approach, something more conceptual.

As I’ve said before, in much earlier posts, my concepts of Batman are greatly motivated by those who have seen a brief glimpse or two of him as he would operate in the darkness of a shadow, with a second in the light.

In this instance, the concept is loosely based on sketches witnesses have rendered of supernatural phenomena, such as an alien or bigfoot.

Rendered with Brush and Ink.

Closer to the Lighthouse, and further into land.
Neither particularly magnificent nor towering, the Lighthouse in Point Clark has something magical, almost haunting, about it.
It might have to do with the structure being over 150 years old and the first structure in Canada to be named a Historic Site.
