CLIENT: 3-Day Novel
PROBLEM: The client wanted to maintain the branding of the 33rd annual, while incorporating something new. The poster was sent to me with the concept of construction characters renovating it into the 34th Anual poster.
SOLUTION: The design of the character has the right level of quirkiness, cuteness and charm so as to be appealing en-mass. Moreover, there is a certain level of androgyny the client asked for wherein the design of the characters fit. The choice to keep the characters as line-renderings was a stylistic one; creating the illusion that someone has scribbled these characters into the posters across downtown Vancouver, Toronto, and other major cities across Canada.
